Bio

The busy indie rock/pop sound of The Nile Club’s 2019 release, Motions, explored the minds of then-teenagers Sam Walters, Marcellina Star, Chai Devlin, and Samwise Baker, who independently produced and released the debut LP to local acclaim. Early performances at festivals and house venues around West Bend, WI introduced listeners to their variety and individuality driven by the band’s multiple songwriters, rotating frontpeople, and equal creative control. Silly, noisy, danceable, downtrodden, and heartfelt, a sound with something for everyone propelled the band into relevancy on the Milwaukee scene when they moved there together in 2020. There, the group found a new member in composer and local legend, Jack Lusk, and together the 5-piece began playing larger and louder shows in the city. The roaring guitars and punky energy of the Milwaukee indie sound influenced the writing and recording of The Nile Club’s sophomore effort, Wake Up With A Sense Of Pride. Slated to be released on January 20, 2023.

Motions

The band’s debut LP Motions was self-produced in Sun Prairie, WI and released in October 2019. The project was graciously received by their local communities, and they played out at festivals and house shows before the lockdown. The group then moved to Milwaukee in early 2020, where, in addition to playing larger and louder shows in the city, they spent the many dreary months of the pandemic writing and recording their follow-up album, Wake Up With a Sense of Pride, to be released on January 20, 2023.

Other Projects

The Nile Club’s most recent music video for “Black Knight” created and filmed by Griffin Sauter and Frank Holmes of Dorm Girl Productions.
